Zaphix Nemulis was an academic from the Academy of Wind in Sanctaphrax, and the Stone Marshal during the Quint trilogy. He created a technique to delay the ripening of flight-rocks, allowing them to grow to far greater sizes. This technique involved leaving a shard of stormphrax inside a glow-worm skin inside the flight rock. Imbix Hoth commissioned him to create a flight rock for his ship, The Bringer of Doom. However, he betrayed Hoth by leaving the shard of stormphrax inside the rock, causing the ship to crash some time after it set sail.
