Woodwasps

A recently hatched woodwasp perched on the tongue of Hax Vostillix.

Woodwasps were large, dangerous, parasitic wasps found in various parts of the Edgeworld. Woodwasps hatched from egg sacs inside living hosts, emerging at full maturity. The wasps then stung their way out of their host. Because woodwasp eggs could easily be disguised as sugared bonbons, they were sometimes used by assassins who wished their victim to die a slow and painful death - Hax Vostillix ate some these eggs leading to his death, which were put out by Vilnix Pompolnius. They lived in nests with complex tunnels and chambers, like the stonecomb.
