Windtouchers

Windtouchers were academics of the Academy of Wind, one of the seven major schools of Sanctaphrax. The Professor of Wind was the dean of the Academy of Wind in Sanctaphrax and the highest windtoucher. According to tradition, there was a bitter rivalry against the College of Cloud and all windtouchers were eager to outdo all cloudwatchers.

In Midnight Over Sanctaphrax, two sub apprentice windtouchers complained about their work of windgrading and their professor, whom they considered a tyrant. The windtouchers' tower, a great wind-tower that responded to the slightest of breeze, was visible from where Maris and Quint met in The Curse of the Gloamglozer.
