Spore-worms

Spore-worms were tiny parasites which bred in stagnant Deepwoods pools. If ingested, they could cause violent illness. When Maris Pallitax and Quint Verginix were stranded in the Deepwoods, they found a hole full of rainwater. Maris wanted to drink from the pool, as she was very thirsty, but Quint warned her that it could contain rust-blight or spore-worms.[1]
