Posting-poles were tall, stout pillars of wood where sky pirate captains would nail advertisements for their ships. The advertisements were usually very short, only one to two sentences long. Cowlquape and Twig looked at one in Midnight Over Sanctaphrax and Rook, Stob, and Magda saw an old one in The Last of the Sky Pirates.
