Ironwood pinecones

Ironwood pinecones were pinecones which grew on ironwood pines. The pine kernels inside could be eaten, and the resin was highly flammable. Quint and Maris fed on the pine-kernels when they were lost in the Deepwoods in Clash of the Sky Galleons and used the flammable resin for signalling. In The Immortals,  Squall Razortooth used a large hollowed-out ironwood pinecone as a make-shift brazier pot^[1][2].
