FastCopy major bug

0

After recently installing windows 8.1 on new ssd, I installed fastcopy and found that the shell extensions do NOT work whatsoever. I tried both 32bit and 64bit versions of the software. The shell extensions are indeed installed but they do absolutely nothing when you select one of them using right click. FastCopy worked fine and shell extensions worked on my old hdd before this one, which also had win 8.1. Anyone have clue?

What method did you use to install the extentions , knowing that it can be done during install or after in the Options? Did you try uninstall (shell extentions) there in the options and re-install? I know that you can even apply that when installed "portably", setting itself in the registry based on the present folder location. Then the permission for the folder it resides in? Clues may exist in the FastCopy.ini settings file, which should be right next to the executable, cause it logs some stuff. – Psycogeek – 2015-05-21T07:24:54.723

tried uninstalling few times, tried 32bit vers too. Installed extensions before, portably, and after installing program. Extensions are installed to context menu, just not working in explorer. Noticed context menu items work in ftp client program, due to it not using explorer as file interface. Checked .ini file but found nothing. I think problem lies in registry. After I recently installed windows 8.1 to new ssd, I added 2nd username to windows in order to delete old one. I wanted different name then it allowed me initially. I'm curious if it's causing any issues. Program worked fine in past. – crimson25 – 2015-05-22T10:06:14.510
