Windows 7 Severe Lag without much RAM+CPU Usage

0

I'm running a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, and its a few years old now, but up until about three days ago still worked like a charm. Now, it will take over 1 minute to register that I clicked something, the explorer window takes forever to load me documents, and tryin' ta work on it is a nightmare. SOMETIMES it registers, and loads thing normally, but not soon after, it flips out again and lags up immensely.

Here's where it get's weird(at least ta me), Me computer isn't being overclocked. Me core temp never goes above 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Me CPU usage is never above 35%. Me Memory is never beyond half capacity. Everything, fer some reason, just doesn't feel like being processed. As if me system has literally gotten FAT and lazy. Just now, i tried ta open Notepad.... it took THREE MINUTES to open.

Please help.

Here's a picture of me Resource Monitor:

do a system restore and check the performance. – Ali786 – 2015-01-22T06:10:04.317

1I had a DV6 do the same and the hard disk was imminently failing. I'm working on a laptop (Samsung) that is also doing the same. I initially worked on it and it started behaving but I warned the owner it may be the disk. Surely enough, couple of days later the owner said a new message was showing - the Windows 7 SMART message. New disk and everything seems a 100 times better. – Kinnectus – 2015-01-22T07:39:55.050
