I am trying to run an executable on my surface pro 3 running windows 8.1. I receive the message "This app can't run on this PC, To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher.
Can someone tell me what might be wrong. This is a software application that I have been running once per month for years. What do I need to do to run a simple .exe?
2do you a 32 or 64 bit version of windows 8? also, what is the app you are trying to run? has it ever worked in the past with this computer? – Mike Diglio – 2014-12-19T15:39:14.540
64 bit version of windows 8. It has never ran on this computer. My previous computer was windows 7 and it ran fine. I've been thinking that it's very possible it can't run on this PC but how do I determine if it's the .exe file or my PC? – Carol – 2014-12-19T15:46:26.983
looks like the executable was created using visual basic 4.0 – Carol – 2014-12-19T16:25:13.763
164Bit Windows can't run 16Bit software. Run a 32Bit VM to run the program – magicandre1981 – 2014-12-19T16:59:17.697
