Can I boot / install windows 8.1 from usb 3.0 with usb 3.0 media?

As far as I know it wasn't possible to install win 7 from usb 3.0 hub. It faild every time, I guess due to some boot or driver problem.

If it could be possible for win 8/8.1 I would buy usb 3.0. Can I do that with legacy bios or uefi install with usb 3.0?
