Elance/oDesk for self-control and estimation of spent time on own project

0

Since I've been working in company I used Elance for some projects.

After working a few months with Elance I can say that it not only increases my utility but also helps to say how much time was spent at this or at that feature.

I am about to start coding my diploma for university and I would love to have similar tool so that I could see how much in total I spend at the project per day/week/month.

The problem is that both Elance and oDesk require existence of registered work on their websites. As you may understand this doesn't go for me.

It would be perfect if it could count time in total, allow to write comments and make screenshots. Anyway there are just wishes.

Any suggestions are welcome.

1Superuser does not like providing software/hardware recommendations. Please refrain from asking for them. That being said, Jira/Agile might be a place to look. – Abraxas – 2014-10-17T19:58:05.203

Hubstaff - https://hubstaff.com/ .

Know When and What Your Team is Working On

Hubstaff runs as an application on the desktop making it easy to track time. Once the time is tracked you can invoice clients, pay employees, see in-depth reporting and much more

It works fine with Linux and allows taking of screenshots.
