Can no longer connect to Office365 email

0

I have an old university email that I now access via Office365. I've had it setup and working in Mail on my Mac and also on my iPhone for several years. A few days ago it began to prompt me for my password which when entered correctly it did not recognise. I then tried logging in via the online portal and it no longer seems to recognise my email address. The most recent issue is that I can now no longer access the old emails via Mail whereas I originally could when the problem started.

If I try the Connection Doctor in Apple Mail it says that the connection to the smtp.office365.com server failed - check username and password which I'm 100% sure are correct.

I've tried connecting the account to Outlook as well with no luck - it doesn't recognise the email/username and password.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers, Jarryd

1Contact the university. I'm fairly certain the account no longer exists. – Wutnaut – 2014-10-16T17:50:46.670

1Sounds like account sweep to me, too. My ISP recently changed its smtp from outlook.com to office365.com, but all other data remained the same, ports, authentication etc – Tetsujin – 2014-10-16T18:17:43.077
