I bought a new hp laptop and it does not have a VGA input. So I bought a HDMI converter cable. It works, but there are no sound. I have tried everything I could and nothing.
Does anybody knows if it is not possible to get sound from laptop by using this cable? The projector is an ACER PD116 DLP

As far as I can tell by looking at the projectors manual you will need to connect the audio out/earphone jack on your laptop to the audio in on the projector. – Malcolm – 2014-08-31T14:59:04.133
Malcolm is correct, the video output port does not include audio. You need to use the audio output jack as well. If you want to include video and audio in one hdmi feed, you will need a converter that combines video and audio input to a single hdmi output. – Jeff Clayton – 2014-08-31T16:49:49.203
