I installed Opensuse 12.2 some months ago in a computer where there was Windows 8 but something went wrong and the windows EFI data in the windows partition disappeared.
Now I'm trying to recover Windows because I got this messages:
"error can't find comand drivemap error invalid efi file path"
I got the EFI firmware files from the windows recovery dvd and placed in the efi partition. After this "fix" I went in the windows console and tried todo: bootrec /fixboot and other options and I got this other message:
file \EFI\Microsoft\boot\bcd error code: 0xc000000f
In the windows recovery console I tried als oto use bootrec /scanos but I got :
total identified windows installations = 0
I tried to use diskpart and after doing a list partition I could see only 4 partitions instead of my 8 partitions.
None of them was the windows or recovery windows partitions.
By the way, I can see those partitions from Opensuse and they seem ok.
Any idea?
Cheers!
EDIT: I have extracted the win 8 serial number from linux, download the microsoft win8 installer capable to create the win 8 iso but it said my serial number was not ok.. probably it's a OEM version – correboi – 2013-12-17T11:23:51.647
I do not know if it might help but have you tried to use the tool GParted ? Download it from here : http://gparted.org/ and put it on a disk an boot in it and try to see if you can get all of your 8 partitions.
