So I'm running the ATI 4870x2 and from this with a DVI to HDMI adapter I have audio and video going to my tv - which feeds through to my amp and speakers. This is wonderful and I couldn't be happier, but obviously I want more.
I have a great Harnon speaker system and a 50 foot RCA cable, but when I plug in the RCA cable to the sound card it cuts out the video card.
I've messed around a bit but can't seem to figure out how to get audio from both the video and sound cards.

What do you mean by "cuts out the video card"? Audio? Video? Both? Also, could you provide the model of the sound card? – Chris Stauffer – 2012-12-21T18:45:56.803
