Windows has deteced my computer performance is slow?

Vista 64-bit systray notification “Windows has detected your performance is slow”

Have new laptop, specs are: core i5 480m, HD 6550 gfx, 6GB DDR3 ram, Windows 7 ultimate x64..

However every time I start up the computer, Windows says 'Windows has detected that your system performance is slow' then if I click on the message it suggests that I might want to disable Aero to improve performance. Why? The computer isn't slow, and the Windows experience index is 5.9 (thanks to very mediocre hard drive), however all other scores are 6.7 or higher.

It does seem like whenever I start it up with aero enabled, 50% of the ram is already used up, and the task manager shows that the biggest memory hog is 'svchost.exe' and there are about 8 instances of svchost.exe running.

Is Windows on to something or should I just ignore the warning?
