1@xiamx Have you found a solution for this? I have a similar situation and I'm stuck. – Dan F. – 2015-08-19T13:02:34.737

@DanF.I have not, but my usecase of it has disapearred – xiamx – 2015-08-19T16:12:11.003

1Just give the users a normal .zip along with a link to the 7zip or WinRAR website. Hell, Windows itself can unpack .zip archives since WinXP. – user1686 – 2011-01-17T21:40:18.557

2This is not duplicated with "How to create a zip file compatible with windows under linux". I'm asking for self-extract zip which isn't a simple zip file but an executable file – xiamx – 2011-01-29T16:03:11.687

UPX appears to do everything you specify.

UPX is an executable-compressor. It does not create self-extracting zips. – maja – 2018-03-05T14:06:31.180
