Scan With RDP(Windows Server 2016)

0

I have a problem a I hope you guys can help me out.

I have the following items

Desktop Windows 10 Pro VPS Windows Server 2016(connected RDP) Canon i-Sensys MF628Cw(connected: USB and LAN)

I would like to install the Canon printer on the VPS, to be able to scan. During the installation of the printer on the VPS, it asks for the ip-address of the printer(Local 192.168.1.114). The VPS can’t find it because it’s an local ip-address. At this point the printer Is usb redirected, so I can only print but not scan.] I want the local ip-address to be reachable at the vps I connect to the VPS with Remote Desktop Services)

How can I get this together?

Does scanning on your local PC and then transferring the files to the server not make more sense in this situation? Or does the server itself need to be able to scan from your scanner for some specific reason? – Sam Forbis – 2020-02-18T18:03:09.967
