I am not able to install Windows 10 on my early-2011 MacBook Pro. I was able to get to a stage where I can create a bootable disk and a partition. When the windows installation begins, no matter how many times I format, the Windows installer complains when the Boot Camp partition is selected as the Windows install destination.
The couple of errors I get are as follows:
When working with unallocated-space (deleted partition in Windows installer) -
Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS.
When working with a NTFS formatted bootcamp partition -
Windows detected that the EFI system partition was formatted as NTFS.
Format the EFI sustem partition as FAT32 and restart the installation.
I am not able to get the Windows installer to proceed with the installation from this point.
More details about my system:
- Optical drive was removed to install a SSD, which is the boot drive for macOS.
- Trying to use the older HDD for Boot Camp.
A couple of articles, that I have referred to so far, are given below:
When I installed bootcamp on my 2011 macbook, the bootcamp installer did everything, I just pointed it to the W7 installation files, and boom. – Moab – 2020-02-08T23:17:51.010

Windows 10 version 1607
slightly changed the processor requirements. – Ramhound – 2020-02-08T23:51:47.893"Windows 10 needs UEFI Bios was not available in 2011" - Windows 10 on Bootcamp might required it but Windows 10 absolutely does not required UEFI. – Ramhound – 2020-02-08T23:52:15.617
