How to find user-modified registry keys or keyboard mappings on Windows 10?

0

I'm back on Windows (with a Surface Book 2) after many years as a software developer working on Macs or Linux. I somehow changed some keyboard mappings a few months ago, but I can't remember how I did it. I might want to install some keyboard mapping app, but I might already have or (I vaguely recall) I may have made the changes (mapping right-Alt and CapsLock to Ctrl) in the registry.

Any advice about how I can figure out what I did?

And, I'm afraid this next question is off-topic for Stack fora, but any advice about how to remap keys in such a way that I don't have the same problem three months from now?

Only way is to have a registry snapshot of a clean install or of your system before changes were made, compare it to your current system>>>>>https://sourceforge.net/projects/regshot/
