MS Word: how to make page count start from 1 instead of 0 and not cross over sections?

Question

I have a document which requires precise page numbering, formatting etc. through different sections. (I'm really not used to do that kind of things.)

One problem is: Some of my section page counts start at zero. How do I make them start at 1 again?

(Weird fact: one of the counts starting at page 2 of a section, skips first page of next section and continues at page 2 of that next section...)
