Remote Desktop will not work unless i start a connection with TeamViewer first

0

I have a Windows 8.1 Pro on a Intel NUC running our access control system, the latest updates have been installed.

In the mornings when i need to access the device via Remote Desktop it says "Remote Desktop can't connect to remote computer......" so i open TeamViewer and connect to the pc first try. I then close TeamViewer and try again with Remote Desktop and it connects no problem. I did not change anything on the pc while i was connected via TeamViewer.

The pc runs 24/7

What can cause this?

A dependable service may be shutting down overnight. – NiallUK – 2020-01-27T09:30:22.817

Oky but why does it start only once TeamViewer connects? – Smiley – 2020-01-27T09:32:50.643

@Smiley When Teamviewer connects, it may force a dependable service to start. – NiallUK – 2020-01-27T09:53:56.350

@NiallJones So what you're saying is i have to check and see what services gets started when Teamviewer is activated and set that service to always run? – Smiley – 2020-01-27T10:01:35.290

It might be that the device has entered sleep, and TeamViewer is just better at waking it up. – harrymc – 2020-01-27T10:10:04.713

@Smiley Yes, that would be agood place to start. It may be what harrymc suggested. – NiallUK – 2020-01-27T11:23:36.713
