I am planning to buy a J3455B-ITX system with Intel HD 500 graphics (Apollo Lake), which is listed as being able to do real-time H264 encoding at 4kx2k/60p. I have a number of cameras running at 1280x800/60p that I would like to encode, which is about 1/8 of the listed rate in pixels/second. Does this mean I could compress the streams from 8 cameras in real time? Or is H264 encoding time nonlinear with the number of pixels?
