Software solution to remap audio surround channels in Windows?

0

I have a PC with surround speakers (Z906) connected to it, and a TV connected via HDMI to the PC as a second monitor, on the opposite end of the room.

When playing or watching stuff on the TV, the positioning of the speakers is reversed (because it is on the opposite side), so that the rear right speaker is to the TV's left, and the rear left speaker is to the TV's right, etc.

I have been trying to find a software solution to generically remap audio channels to output to specific speakers. Media Player Classic offers a solution but it didn't work properly, and I'd like a general Windows solution.

Why not just swap the plugs over? – Tetsujin – 2019-12-16T08:40:58.987

That's what I'll have to do for now, but that is far from ideal, and a software solution should be possible to implement. – Gildon – 2019-12-16T11:56:24.907
