If there is no nvidia Optimus on a laptop, would manually disabling the dedicated nvidia gpu switch the laptop to intel integrated graphics?

The purpose of doing so would be to save battery.

If so, is the only point of nvidia Optimus that it does it also automatically?

And if it won’t work, then would that be because the intel HD graphics isn’t connected to the display?

The laptop is a HP Omen (not with the 2019 chassis), with an i7-9750H and RTX 2070.

Usn't the intel iGPU always connected to the display when using Optimus? (even when the calculations are done on the Nvidia when in high performance mode) ? – Hennes – 2019-12-01T08:28:03.227
