How to input linear format equations using UnicodeMath in powerpoint like in word?

How to input linear format equations using UnicodeMath in powerpoint 2016 like in Microsoft-word 2016?

In Microsoft-word 2016, I can input equations using UnicodeMath. For example, when I input the following code in word,

\alpha

I can get the latin alphabet corresponding to alpha.

But in Microsoft-Powerpoint 2016, when I input the same words, I cannot get the latin alphabet.
