On Linux I set up Thunderbird to work with rackspace IMAP for an email account which has since migrated to office 365. I suppose the best practice would to back-up the IMAP e-mails from Thunderbird.
It looks like Thunderbird won't work with Office 365:
Thunderbird does NOT support Microsoft's proprietary protocols to access Exchange servers or Office 365.
If Thunderbird can work with Office 365, can I just adjust the configuration?
