I am attempting to configure Storage Spaces in Server 2016 using 8 1TB SATA HDDs. All 8 devices are listed in Device Manager. However, Server Manager only displays 6 available disks. I have tried swapping drives between SATA ports and "Rescan Storage" to see if I have any bad drives or SATA ports, but it almost seems like Windows can only initialize 6 HDDs at once. Please advise!

Windows Server absolutely should/does recognize more than 6 HDDS. If you unplug two of the drives do 6 HDDs still show up? Edit your question instead of submitting a comment – Ramhound – 2019-09-19T03:35:47.937
