When the tablet is in portrait mode and plugged into monitor using hdmi, the tablet screen changes to landscape. This happens if the monitor is not switched on or connected to power, yes unplugged! Monitor is designed to rotate to portrait, but overrides the signal from the tablet, so that monitor shows landscape image physically rotated 90 degrees. Iiyama of course blame android and the tablet, but this rings a little hollow. Any help appreciated.

Think the answer is in the hdmi protocol between the devices. The monitor has a preferred mode, landscape, android has not got a strong preference so the monitor dictates. S – Jcs – 2019-09-17T19:13:34.533
