Unusual link recieved from Facebook in an email

Question

The following link was contained in an email from facebook (I have removed the part that contained my email address:

https://www.facebook.com/nd/?home.php&aref={some number}&medium=email&mid={some jargon}={my email address}&lloc=2nd_cta

The following is an image showing what the email content looked like, and which button that I pressed to to follow the aforementioned link:

and rather than the standard user interface one ordinarily sees, a screen shot of the page displayed is below:

So obviously my question is, why did this occur?
