Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio - Purple Highlight on text and purple square appearing

Program - Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Version - 18.2 Issue - Everything I type in a query is highlighted purple, there is also a purple square appearing on the right side that doesn't seem to do anything.

How do I disable whatever setting is on that is causing this?

Have you tried setting the text editor to default or maybe changing to a different set of colors and font just to check if it removes those things? The path to do the change is Tools > Options > Environment > Fonts and Colors. – Ronaldo – 2019-08-23T11:32:39.740
