i accidentally changed HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT's default value ,meaning I clicked on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT's default file and changed its value to "exefile", now when i try to open a exe. file it simply says you need a new app to open this exe file. Can someone help? I can't restore my pc and i should've taken the initial value down. I was suppose to go into EXE folder instead of just chaning the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT default value...can anyone help me out?

Hello would you like me to write you a VBScript you can download from my website and open it to fix the problem? – Cris – 2019-08-18T06:16:19.363

What's stopping you from just deleting it? But better show a screenshot of regedit before starting. – harrymc – 2019-08-18T10:33:47.843
