I bought a New Monitor with HDR capability which works fine using HMDI cable or DP 1.4 to HMDI cable. But its not working when Using only DP 1.4 cable. I cant find anything on why and how this is not working using DP1.4.
Monitor is acer XF XF272UP
GPU: GTX 980 with updated DP https://www.nvidia.com/object/nv-uefi-update-x64.html

Yes I am certain I use and DP 1.4 cable.

DisplayPort, the port, not protocol, supports quite a few different protocols, including DisplayPort and HDMI. This means a passive adapter is most likely just a bunch of wires (no processing) and your computer is outputting HDMI through DP. I'm not sure but it sounds like somehow your monitor or computer isn't letting you use HDR with DP, but is letting it with HDMI. – udlp – 2019-07-31T17:58:03.933
