We have a problem with MS Word 2016 on a macbook pro (2011, i5 dual core processor, SSD). Word shows is that documents sometimes cannot be changed and saved, and reopening a file and then changing it does not persist the changes, etc.
After some analysis we found that lsof shows that when we close a document in Word without closing the program itself, then Word keeps the document open in one thread. When we open the document again, lsof shows the same file twice, used by two different threads in the same process.
Obviously, this causes strange behavior like one thread overriding the changes of the other and/or blocking one the other thread from persisting changes etc.
I wasn't able to find anything helpful on google. Does anybody know the issue and has a solution?
