My Ubuntu 18.04 LTS server stopped any kind of connections both in and out after updating and upgrading with apt
. No SSH in/out, no ping whatsoever.. I can now only connect to the server through Hetzner's console from their website. I cannot ping to my server's address neither with the name (sefadenizoglu.com) nor the ip address (116.203.189.123). In addition, I cannot ping any ip address including 8.8.8.8 or any web address from within the server either.
Background
I have a cloud instance at Hetzner and when I logged in I saw that there were quite a number of packages need to be updated. So I updated and continued with an experiment I was going to do: change sports.sefadenizoglu.com to www.sefadenizoglu.com. I had already issued Let's Encrypt's SSL certificate to the website, so I made a back up of the nginx server conf file of sports.sefadenizoglu.com
and copied it as www.sefadenizoglu.com
, then went on and replaced all sports
with www
, and finally deleted parts in the config file added by Let's Encrypt.
