To compile Hadoop 3.2.0 I needed to first have Protobuf 2.5.0 present. As I am building for AIX 7.1 I have had to build the protocol buffer from the source codes in github. I don't do a lot of compiling for C or C++ so I am currently at a loss.
I'm using GCC 9.1 to compile and the only "error" that stood out was
