When setting up git, it asks what editor to use as default, and it doesn't detect atom. Here is the image.

The Next > Button is grayed out, so I am assuming that it can't find atom. How can I get it to work?

Does running Atom from the command line work? If not, you might need to install the shell commands, which can be done within Atom. See this question for details.
