How to force USB drive to show as removable drive

0

I have a removable USB drive I've been using and it has show up as a "REMOVABLE" drive every time. Recently, I rebooted the computer with the drives plugged in, I THINK this caused Windows 10 to flip them to "BASIC" non-removable drives. They show as BASIC in properties and cannot be ejected. How can I switch it back? Write caching is disabled already. I'm thinking that perhaps windows keeps track of all drives that have been plugged in and has it marked to always show up as non-removable and there must be some way to clear that list.

This question is not a duplicate of "Internal hard drives showing as removable in Windows 10" as I have the exact opposite issue. A removable drive is showing as internal.
