I am a die hard fan of VMware Workstation (currently at 15.1.0). My Linux VMs always start as 800x600. Both in boot splash screen (plymouth) and graphical login dialog (LightDM + GTK Greeter). This seems to come from EDID. Is there a way to override that? Preferably per VM. Changing "Maximum resolution" in video adapter properties does not help.
