Popping noises before and after playing music

0

I have bought a mixer: Behringer 1204USB. Windows 7 x64. Default driver, called USB AUDIO CODEC by Microsoft, has been installed.

The problem lies in the fact that OS or driver disables transmitting the audio signal from my PC to the mixer when there is nothing to play. But when I start playing a YouTube video, or make some OS error message appear, or simply click on volume speaker icon (near the clock) -> hit that volume bar I always get popping noise -> sound starts playing to the end -> popping noise.

It is very annoying and stressful up to the point that I cannot use this mixer with my PC.

I have tried everything I could find on the Internet:

  • changing balanced power management profile to high performance
  • changing min CPU usage to 100%
  • disabling audio enhancements in Playback devices properties
  • probably a lot more, I could not recall now; will add later when recalled

Nothing resolved the problem.

I had a similar issue with my HP laptop, but thankfully the beats audio manager had the option to disable this function; if I remember correctly it called "Enable advanced power manager feature".

But it seems I cannot find anything related to the mixer driver. Maybe there are other ways to disable this feature bug?

How to get rid of that popping noise?
