Intermittent remote desktop problems (connection reset by peer)

0

I've got a Win 10 box that runs headless and is normally accessed via rdesktop from a CentOS 6 system. Most of the time this works great, but once in a while (we've had 3 instances so far) rdesktop won't start and gives the error ERROR: recv: Connection reset by peer. There's no correlation we see with amount of time that the Win 10 PC has been on.

As near as I can tell, the Win 10 PC is running fine while in the error condition. Nothing has changed in the firewall settings on either end.

If I connect a monitor and keyboard to the Win 10 PC I'm able to login locally. At that point I'm able to use rdesktop again - twice. That is, I can connect with rdesktop, disconnect, reconnect, disconnect, and any further connect attempts result in the ERROR message. If I reboot the Win 10 PC, everything works fine when it comes back up.

Any ideas on how to debug this greatly appreciated. I am able to install whatever is needed on the Win 10 PC, if there's something that would help.
