RDP issue: Google Cloud services

I've used RDP forever. Never had an issue with performance. Went to Google cloud, launched a beefy server, and I continually have issues with connection reliability. I get the 'Server connection lost, reconnecting (1/20)'. OMG. I pay them $100/mo. and they want me to pay for support?? Thought I'd try here first before finding another provider in the off-chance that maybe I'm missing something like a configuration item?

ISP (AT&T) provides 50/20 over copper reliably, no latency. Funny thing is, this happens only on cloud services, not on local RDP or even VPN RDP to work. I thought this might be just a Google thing - but experience the same results on AWS. I have a hint: apparently AT&T only serves IPV6 externally from my location - they completely removed IPV4 service.
