I have a pretty standard exim 4.90 setup of type "internet". Since a few days, this server has been added to the backscatterer blacklist.
After analysing the logs, I found the problem:
- I've received an email from toto@fromdomain.com rcpt to titi@localdomain.com
- the spam ACLs give it a spamscore just bellow the drop limit
- titi@localdomain.com is in /etc/aliases as tutu@otherdomain.com => driver=redirect
- tutu@otherdomain.com is external, therefore routed to the remote_smtp transport
- the remote_smtp transport tries to deliver the email to tutu@otherdomain.com and the other server rejects the email with a
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 554 5.7.1 Command rejected
- Then my server tries to send a NDR to toto@fromdomain.com
- The fromdomain.com server rejects the email with a
Recipient address rejected: Access denied
How can I avoid this kind of behavior? Would it be OK and possible to disable NDRs for aliases?
