Thubderbird cannot display emails from search result list

Question

I am using thunderbird as my email client. For some reason I cannot seem to be able to view my past emails when Ι find them via search.

So, when I am searching for a term in some emails I get the results fine but when I try to see the actual content of a certain email (in a different tab) I cannot see it.

In the body of the email (where the actual email content should be visible) I see an introduction message from thunderbird like this one:

Also the Subject, Correspondent etc tabs are empty.

THe funny thing is that if I write down the date and subject and search for the same email from the inbox list it opens it just fine though.

Any idea what's going on and how I could fix it?
