Remote Desktop Session Causing SSD Write Failures and COM Port Locking

0

I have a work environment where we are starting a project that will require members of the OPS team to routinely remote into test environment Windows 10 machines that are replicas of a device that is used by customer's in production. This device is stripped down, no keyboard, no mouse, just a touch screen for customers and a CPU backing it up.

After remoting into these devices, every time the session ends, we see SSD write failures and sporadic locking of COM ports that printer USB devices are assigned to on the device. We resolve these issues by rebooting the machine

My question is, are there configuration settings with Windows remote desktop sessions that would prevent SSD write failures on the client machine from occurring after a session? And that would prevent locking of COM ports after a session?

Completely new to Super User and Windows remote sessions here.
