Mvn --verify get msg: Error: -classpath requires class path specification

I had maven working at one time, but when I reinstalled it, I get this error: C:\Users\dlevi>mvn --verify Error: -classpath requires class path specification

I checked my JAVA-HOME and path., both are OK. I checked google but can't find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
