Cygwin X on Win 10

Question

I have been using Cygwin on all my win boxes since 2005 with just minor issues always resolvable. On my new win 10 box (AMD) X doesn't work. Along with the "screen" window (fvwm win mngr) I get 3 more smaller windows, then one closes, but none of the items in my .xinitrc excecute except for fvwm. Xterms don't open, background doesn't change.... and when I close any of the 3 windows, the xserver exits. I have been using the same scripts and rc files for years and now things don't work. My question is why? Is it win 10, the AMD architecture or win 10 on amd? Any help would be appreciated
