Reducing Bufferbloat on my R7500v2 with DD-WRT?

0

I have a Netgear R7500v2 flashed with DD-WRT v3.0-r37305. I have a 100D\10U (tested at 115\10.5) cable connection and I am trying to get QoS working better for my setup. I have tested QoS on my router (HTB\FQ_Codel) and I have to reduce my Uplink\Downlink to 65\6.5 to avoid any big ping spikes during a speedtest, usually the biggest is just right at the beginning of the test.

Is there something I am missing to get my router and QoS to take better advantage of my connection? I know that there will always be a little speed loss when setting up QoS, but 65% of rated to get rid of buffer bloat seems kind of extreme. I was thinking of picking up an Ubiquiti ERX and just turning my router into an AP if we think that may have better luck.

Who said 65%? I usually reduce it by 10% and it works fine. – Tim_Stewart – 2019-07-11T14:24:13.197
