In one of my MS word documents word replaces cross-references to one specific table with the actual table itself whenever I go into the print menu or use the update-references on the whole document.
This is really annoying as I have then the same table 5 times in positions I dont want to have it (everywhere were I cross-reference it).
It happens only in this document and only with one out of three tables and restarting word does not help. Maybe I broke something by unintentionally hitting a keyboard shortcut?
How can I fix this?
First, check your settings on the cross-reference. I assume your "Reference type" is a Table. Is the "Insert reference to" field pointing at Entire caption? Also, I would UNcheck Insert as hyperlink and see if that fixes things. Did it work?? – Ms. Dale – 2019-08-16T15:11:53.820
