Windows 10 Language and keyboard settings: How do i get rid of an input method combination i do not use?

I have a German keyboard (QWERTZ) connected to my PC. (I'm German) I live in France. I regularly read and edit english text and i'm familar with the US keyboard layout.

What I'd like to have:

English as Windows display language. Locale settings such as date/time in German. One input method for German keyboard (my physical keyboard layout). One input method for English US keyboard layout. Location set to France. (as to where it matters for legal/content reasons)

What i actually have configured at the moment is:

  • Country or region: France
  • Windows display language: English (US)
  • Preferred Languages:
  • English (US)
  • Deutsch (Deutschland)

What i get is:

But i do not want to have the first entry (English+French keyboard)

Howdo i get rid of it?

Please don't duplicate this to Windows 10 April 2018 Update added an extra Language and I cannot remove it It is a distinct question and the solution there does not apply.

Edit: Added picture for Region & language settings as somebody asked.
